UOSH's commitment to workers is to reduce workplace injuries, illnesses and deaths. UOSH believes the best way to accomplish this goal is through strong, effective safety and health programs that effectively involve employees.
One of the most important rights workers have under Section 34A-6-301(6)(a)(i) of the Utah Code is the right to file a complaint with UOSH about hazardous working conditions. We encourage all workers to inform their supervisor or employer about hazards. Often, corrective action will be taken promptly. If the hazard remains, workers can contact their union or notify UOSH.

Whistle Blower Protection
Workers also should be able to exercise their safety and health rights without fear of discrimination or reprisal. Help is available from UOSH for whistle blowers under Section 34A-6-203 of the Utah Code and additional laws. Complaints of discrimination must be filed as soon as possible--within 30 days of the alleged violation.
